A rebus is a kind of word puzzle which uses pictures to represent words. Often, some rules must be applied to get the right word, these rules might also give a clue about the word meant by the picture. If you take a look at the example, you see an animal with the rule c=h. You then know that the word must contain a c. In this case the picture represents a cow, so replacing the c by an h results in the first word of the rebus: how.
